This week we have been getting ready to celebrate Harvest. We thought about how Christians celebrate; we sang the songs 'Water of Life' and 'Lord of the Harvest' and thought about what they meant to us. We drew pictures to represent our thoughts and feelings.

We also learnt about another celebration of Harvest called Sukkot, which is a Jewish festival. We read the story of 'The Long Journey' when Moses and his people were made to walk through the desert for forty years. Jews remember this by building a Sukkah, which is a tent-like building in which they might eat, sleep, sing and celebrate under. As a class we made a Sukkah using blocks. It must be made from natural materials and have a green roof.
We had a lovely service at church with Father Simon.
We had a quiz about where our food comes from - do you know where tea comes from? What about raisins, coffee or chocolate? We had some funny answers! Then we really enjoyed making some hedgehog bread rolls for Harvest - we are going to be eating them tomorrow!
