Buddhism

We have been learning about Buddhism today as it is a very popular religion in Asia. Miss Johnston set up a shrine and we discussed what we noticed. Then we read a story about the Buddha, learning abut his life and why he is a special person for Buddhists. We even had a go at meditating, just like he did! We went on a fact hunt to find the 8 paths of the Wheel of Life and noticed how they are similar rules to how we have in school. We finished by writing a fact sheet and then making Buddha sculptures of the Buddha. It was a very interesting day!

Buddhist temples have a shrine room with statues of the Buddha, pictures, incense, bowls for the Buddha and candles.

"He looks peaceful."
"He looks calm, like he is thinking."
"He has a bump on top of his head."
