Spelling patterns we need to know:
Add ed to past tense verbs (looked, waited, asked)
Add s, es or ies (bye bye y) for plurals of nouns (rings, boxes, babies)
Add ing to verbs in the continuous tense (smelling, writing, shouting)
Add er, ier for comparative adjectives (angrier, smaller)
Add est for superlative adjectives (shortest, biggest, strangest)
