Pirate fun at the Discovery Centre!

We very much enjoyed our day of outdoor learning; we took part in lots of activities that encouraged us to work as part of a crew.  We had two brilliant rangers who led the activities and helped us have fun.  Thank you to the parents who accompanied us and to Maxine, who packed us 60 yummy lunches!

Could we work together to balance the see saw?

Captain's coming!

We had a piece of tarpaulin as our 'ship'.  But each there was a storm it was folded in half!  Could we all get on?  Or would we be eaten by the sharks?!  Which way was best to fold the sheet?

We made SOS messages out of natural materials.

We saw  a rival crew of pirates!

We played a game called 'Island's Sinking'.  We had to run to another 'island' before the sharks got us!  The boys were very good sharks...

Feeling our way along a dark cave.

We drew maps and had to find treasure.  This team found a pile of emeralds.

The end of a fun filled day.
